For certain destinations there is a mandatory 15 numerical digits microchip implantation, these 15 digits will be the identification number of your pet that will be associated in all the travel documentation. This process is quick and painless for your pet, performed by a licensed veterinarian.
Another requirement is to do a rabies serology, this is an antibody titer test. Confirm with our team at least 4 months before your trip if your pet requires this test as it depends on the country you will travel to, remember that it is not mandatory for every destination.
Lastly and to complete all the travel documentation, it is necessary that your pet goes through a veterinary checkup and deworming in order to issue a medical certificate along with the additional documentation required by the country of destination (if applicable) and upload all the documentation in the ICA (Colombian Agricultural Institute) web application; after this it is necessary to present all the original documentation at the ICA office located at ‘El Dorado’ airport along with your pet and once the official veterinarians verify that everything is in order, they will issue the health permit that will be the final endorsement for your pet to be able to leave the country, please note that this last step must be coordinated within five days prior to the trip.
